How long until I get my new steering wheel?

For in-stock steering wheels, we typically have your order packaged and shipped within 24-48 hours after purchase.

For custom orders, the average turnaround time is 4-6 weeks, but due to the nature of custom builds, we cannot guarantee an exact completion date. Factors such as sourcing an OEM core, material availability, and unexpected delays can extend the process. If you need a steering wheel within a strict timeframe, we recommend purchasing an in-stock option. We cannot guarantee deadlines for personal or show-related events.

Once shipped, domestic transit times range from 1-5 business days, depending on your location and shipping method. International shipping times vary due to customs processing, but most international orders arrive within 3-10 business days.

I don’t see my car listed on your website. Can you still build me a custom wheel?

Absolutely! We can build a custom steering wheel for any vehicle. Simply send us a message or email with:

  • Your car’s year, make, and model
  • A clear photo of your current steering wheel ( Photos from Google are not accepted)

What’s included in my order when I buy a Leatherwerks steering wheel?

By default, Leatherwerks steering wheels are sold as "core-only"—meaning they include only the wheel’s frame.

However, most wheels have options for trims, airbag covers, and electronics, allowing you to purchase a more complete setup if needed. Some wheels do come fully equipped upon request. If you’re unsure what’s included in your specific order, feel free to reach out!

Do I need to return a core?

No, Leatherwerks does not require core returns. We understand that sending back your original wheel can leave your car undrivable for an extended period, and we want to eliminate downtime for our customers.

Whenever possible, we source OEM cores for your custom wheel. This means:

  • You keep your original wheel, allowing you to return to stock at any time.
  • If you decide to sell your car, a custom wheel has better resale value than what you would typically receive for a core exchange.

Do you offer different steering wheels for manual and automatic cars?

Yes! Unlike other brands that only offer a single core design, Leatherwerks provides different core options for manual and automatic vehicles.

When ordering, please specify whether your car is manual or automatic, as this determines the correct core design. If your car is an automatic, your wheel will include paddle cutouts. If your car is manual, we ensure you receive the proper core without paddle holes where applicable.

Can I customize the shape and thickness of my steering wheel?

We put extensive research and development into designing our steering wheels for optimal comfort and performance.

If you have a specific thickness or shape in mind, we will do our best to accommodate your request. However, some limitations exist due to how buttons, plastics, and trim pieces connect to the wheel’s frame. Outside of those structural constraints, we can bring your vision to life with a fully custom build!

Do I lose my heated steering wheel?

In most cases, your factory steering wheel heating can be retained if the option is selected at the time of ordering. However, this feature can only be maintained if your vehicle originally came with a heated steering wheel from the factory. If your car did not have a heated steering wheel to begin with, this feature cannot be added during customization.

How do Leatherwerks LED shift light steering wheels work?

Our LED shift light steering wheels consist of two components:

  1. The steering wheel itself
  2. An OBD2 module that transmits ECU data via Bluetooth

The wheel receives real-time RPM data from the OBD2 module and displays it through the integrated LED lights.

To power the LEDs, you’ll need to locate a reliable 12V power source. In some vehicles, custom wiring through the clock spring may be necessary. Due to the complexity of the installation, we strongly recommend professional installation by an experienced technician. We do not provide remote troubleshooting for LED installs; these wheels are non-returnable and non-refundable for install-related issues.

Do you offer product warranties?

Warranty information varies depending on the specific product. Warranty details are usually included on the product page or packaging.

Standard shipping on orders above $400 is free. On all other orders shipping costs are calculated based on the weight, size of your order, your chosen delivery method, and your location. The final cost will be displayed at checkout.

Do you ship internationally? What am I responsible for?

Yes! We ship worldwide. Most of our products qualify for free national and international shipping but some do not, those that do not qualify for our free shipping are subject to all shipping quotes provided by our website.
